My Cattery History

These pages contain a little bit of my Cattery History, along with a sampler of photos of some of my home-bred cats taken from over the years. The cats pictured here have all been retired from breeding.

This first picture is Rellie; she was out my very first litter, born in 1994. Her mother, Payla, was my first Birman as well as my first Champion.  Rellie was a  beautiful stocky girl, with an outstanding muzzle and Roman nose.  I kept back one of Rellie's sons, CH Silkencats Southern Hospitality, aka "Tally" and a daughter, Sheena, (both seal points) to help establish my line.

This is Tally as a 5-month-old kitten. His gloves  are "painted on" perfect! He has a fabulous stocky body and grew into a large cat. These were pre-digital camera days, when it was pretty hard to get a good picture at home, and this is one of the first professional pictures I had taken at a cat show.

The next two photos are of Savvy and Sitti.  These stunning girls were littermates and are also out of one of my early litters, born to CH Buttonball's Pfeiffer of Silkencats.  I was so pleased with these girls, that I decided to keep them both.  I gained a lot more experience with showing cats with these two girls. Savvy turned out to be the better breeder, however, and so it is her descendants who carried forward the line.

Here is a precious picture of Deni, as a kitten. He has a personality that matches that sweet look on his face! Together with Gettie, he sired some lovely kittens, including my pin-up girl Lila, and Xena.

Sire: CH, GP Hninchima Quickies Count

Dam: Silkencats Sheena

And this is Dora, littermate to Deni. She played an important role in my breeding program by producing my two fabulous boys, Walker and Whiskie. She is also mother to Silkencats Xcellent Adventure, the foundation for my red point program started in 1999.
